Michael Hodgson retired in 2024 from his position at OSHA as Chief Medical Officer and Director, Office of Occupational Medicine and Nursing; He currently has an adjunct professorial appointment at Georgetown University's School of Health. From1999-2013 he served as Chief Consultant, Occupational and Environmental Health SHG, Veterans Health Administration; during 1998-1999 he was a Senior Scientist in NIOSH's Office of the Director. From 1983 to 1991 he was faculty at the University of Pittsburgh Associate Professor 1990) Schools of Medicine and Public Health. In 1991he moved to the University of COnnecticut, where he as Associate Professor and OccMed Residency Director He served as an Epidemic Intelligence Service Officer at NIOSH 1981-1983, in the Division of Respiratory Disease Studies.
