110 - Conquering the "E" in OEM: Strengthening Your Environmental Medicine Expertise, Quiz-show Style

Through an interactive quiz-show format, this session will highlight timely and relevant environmental medicine concepts that are important to OEM clinicians, residents, and interested students. Topics within environmental medicine continue to evolve and expand; underscoring the importance of continual education for those involved in clinical occupational and environmental medicine and related fields. There will be a range of environmental medicine questions and scenarios (and the corresponding solutions) including environmental agents or factors impacting community or workplace health, medical conditions associated with environmental factors, and some laws and regulations. This session will include emerging topics such as climate change, PFAS, and more. The session will be useful to a wide range of OEM clinicians and learners, including those who work in the OEM field who may not be regularly exposed to environmental medicine.

Learning Objectives:

  • Solve challenging, timely, and relevant environmental medicine questions through an interactive and competitive (quiz-style) session.
  • Apply clinical and professional context to a wide range of environmental medicine topics.
  • Identify areas of further study or interest in environmental medicine and describe resources to improve expertise.
