Bob Chestnut, MD (he/him/his)

Chief Medical Executive Director
Cummins Inc.

Dr. Bob Chestnut is the Chief Medical Executive Director for Cummins Inc. Dr. Chestnut works with key leaders within Cummins to support the physical, mental, social, and financial well-being of employees and their families. Dr. Chestnut leads the Global Clinical Services Team including 45 onsite medical clinics at Cummins sites throughout the world. Dr. Chestnut serves on Cummins’ Disability Inclusion Advisory Board with a primary focus on building a strategy and key partnerships for healthy, safe, and inclusive work design.

Dr. Chestnut earned his Medical Doctorate and Master’s degree in Occupational Health at the University of Utah. He is residency trained and board-certified in both Occupational and Environmental Medicine and Family Medicine. Dr. Chestnut was a founding member of University of Utah’s Bench to Bedside (B2B) Program—an intensive experiential learning program that brings together interdisciplinary teams of innovators comprised of healthcare professionals, students, investors, and industry experts focused on identifying and creating solutions for unmet needs in healthcare. Dr. Chestnut is adjunct faculty at the University of Utah School of Medicine.

Dr. Chestnut serves as a board member of the Primary Care Collaborative. The Primary Care Collaborative (PCC) is the leading national, nonpartisan and multi-stakeholder voice advocating for better health and wellbeing for all Americans by strengthening primary care. The PCC unifies and engages diverse stakeholders in promoting policies and sharing best practices that encourage the growth of comprehensive, whole-person primary care.
