Heather O’Hara-Rand, MD, MPH, FACOEM, FACPM is a board-certified physician in Occupational and Environmental Medicine, as well as Public Health and General Preventive Medicine. She currently serves as the Chief of Compensation and Pension for the VA St. Louis Healthcare System. Her past experiences include being Medical Director at Memorial Occupational Health and Memorial Health System's Colleague Health Services, in Decatur, IL, Associate Professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN where she served as the Director for the Preventive Medicine and the Occupational Medicine Residency programs, as well as the Director of Student and Employee Health. She enjoys working to advance her specialties through her current positions as Chair of the American Board of Preventive Medicine, Vice-Chair of the ACGME Preventive Medicine Review Committee, and Chair of the GME Subcommittee for ACPM. Earlier in her career, she served as Treasurer/Secretary, Vice-President, and President of the TCOEM component and the Resident and Recent Graduates section of ACOEM, as well as the Chair of the Occupational and Environmental Residency Directors Association. Dr. O'Hara-Rand attained her B.S. in Chemistry from Tuskegee University, M.S. in Organic Chemistry from Georgia Institute of Technology and, M.D. and M.S.P.H degrees from Meharry Medical College. She completed residency training in General Preventive Medicine, as well as Occupational and Environmental Medicine at Meharry Medical College.
