Dr. Justin G Bergeron is a veterinarian and is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine. He is an active member of the US Army Reserves and has served in various units and positions. After attending veterinary school in Glasgow, Scotland, Dr. Bergeron worked as a traditional veterinarian in large and small animal settings. In 2014 he joined a residency in Public Health and Preventive Medicine at the University of Minnesota, where he studied epidemiology and obtained a Master of Public Health with an emphasis in public health administration and policy. Dr. Bergeron joined the Department of Veteran Affairs in 2023 and currently serves as the Environmental Epidemiologist for Health Outcomes of Military Exposures' (HOME) Exposure Science Program (ESP) where his research focuses are in health outcomes from Military Environmental Exposures (with an emphasis in jet-fuels and PFAS) and Military Working Dogs as Sentinels for Service Member long term health outcomes.
