Research Scientist
The Joint Commission
Michele R. Bozikis MPH, Research Scientist in the Department of Research at The Joint Commission. Previously managed health services research projects that focused on promoting healthcare quality, patient safety, and infection prevention. I look forward to continuing to contribute to these areas of research. My previous work with CDC and AHRQ funded contracts has provided me with a great deal of knowledge in managing the day-to-day activities required to execute and complete multicenter studies. My primary responsibilities have been to conduct training, pilot testing, implementation activities, literature reviews and data management. I have also assisted in the development of questionnaires, IRB and OMB materials and manuscripts. My current research includes the evaluation of venous thromboembolism prevention practices in U.S. hospitals funded by CDC and a NIOSH funded project that focuses on conducting a scoping meta-review examining the extent to which the literature identifies practices likely to benefit safety for both the healthcare worker and patients.
