Allison L. Jones, MD, MS, FACOEM, MRO, SME, is a residency-trained, board-certified physician in Occupational and Environmental Medicine (OEM) and a Diplomate of the American Board of Preventive Medicine. She holds additional certifications in strategic engineering technology management and multiple OSHA standards from the University of Illinois U-C Graduate College of Engineering. Dr. Jones is an expert in preventing and managing occupational and environmental injuries and promoting worker safety and wellness with integration of safety management systems. She recently served on the US Dept of Commerce, National Institute of Standards and Technology Safety Commission to review the Reactor incident at the NIST National Center for Neutron Research the NIST National Fire Laboratory at the NIST Gaithersburg campus.
Dr. Jones is a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and serves on the ANSI Z-10 Occupational Health and Safety Standard and the ASSP Technical Advisory Group for multiple ISO standards. As a former competitive athlete in Modern Pentathlon & Shooting sports, Dr. Jones has been involved in the U.S. Olympic Committee Anti-Doping Task Force and helped transition it to the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA). She also contributed to the Coalition for Anabolic Steroid Precursor and Ephedra Regulation (CASPER), working with the American Medical Association in authoring and lobbying for legislative passage of the Steroid and Ephedra Control Act of 2007.
Dr. Jones has lectured nationally and intenationally on physician wellness and ergonomics for various professional organizations, including the; American College of Surgeons, American Academy of Ophthalmology, Women In Ophthalmology, SOMA and IOHA. She has extensive experience in hospital OEM, industry, and disability management. As a certified medical review officer for DOT and Federally Regulated drug testing programs, she has worked with multiple Fortune 100 and 500 companies and government entities in OEM lead-physician and MRO roles.
