Brian Chen, MD, MPH, is a specialty-trained Occupational and Environmental Medicine physician and currently serves as a Senior Occupational Health Specialist with The World Bank Group Health and Safety Directorate. He provides occupational health advisory services to over 19,000 World Bank and International Monetary Fund staff in 130 plus countries. His expertise includes medical leave of absence, disability, accommodation, and fitness for duty under the United Nations’ rights-based framework to promote workforce inclusion and equity. He also serves as an occupational medicine subject matter expert on various institutional working groups and panels including operational risk and administrative review. Dr. Chen earned his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of Maryland, medical degree from the School of Post-Baccalaureate Medicine at Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan, and Master of Public Health in Health Systems and Policy from the Johns Hopkins University. He completed residency training at Kaohsiung Medical University Hospital, Nassau University Medical Center, and Johns Hopkins Medicine.
