Marianne Cloeren, MD, MPH, FACOEM, FACP (she/her/hers)

Dr. Marianne Cloeren, Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Division of Occupational and Environmental Medicine is a passionate proponent of innovative education in OEM. Dr. Cloeren earned a graduate certificate in online instructional design and is the author and creator of multiple online courses. Dr. Cloeren is a member of the ACOEM special task force on addressing the pipeline to OEM specialty and is the Chair of the Education Committee of the International Occupational Medicine Society Collaborative. On behalf of the ACOEM Council on Occupational and Environmental Medicine Practice, Dr. Cloeren led a multi-year effort to address documentation requirements related to coding care encounters in workers' compensation. At her home institution, she is teaching a 100-hour elective course on OEM to medical students. Dr. Cloeren is a champion of OEM education as a critical strategy to ensure the future of OEM as a specialty.
