Michael Spertus, MD, DipABLM, is a physician board-certified in Family Medicine, Integrative Medicine, and Lifestyle Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Medicine at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Columbia University, and a clinical Fellowship in Integrative Medicine at the Institute for Family Health, Mount Sinai Icahn School of Medicine in New York. He also completed fellowships in Health Professional Education and Primary Care Psychiatry. He has done extensive additional training in medical acupuncture, mindfulness-based interventions, psychotherapy, and clinical hypnosis. He was formerly the Medical Director and Education Director at the Marino Center for Integrative Health and an Instructor for Harvard Medical School. Dr. Spertus currently works as Chief Clinician Well-being Officer (CWO) and as a consultant physician in Whole Health for Pain Medicine at the Miami VA Health System, where he sees patients and provides education. He is a Voluntary Assistant Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Dr. Spertus focuses his clinical care on Integrative Medicine approaches that treat the whole person in the context of their lives, with a focus on the intersection between physical and mental health.
