Barry J. Gelinas, MD, DC, serves as an Advisor to the AMA Guides® Editorial Panel, offering global insights into adopting and implementing the AMA Guides internationally.
Dr. Gelinas is Co-Author-Editor for the musculoskeletal chapters — Chapter 15 (Upper Limb), Chapter 16 (Lower Limb), and Chapter 17 (Spine and Pelvis)—in the AMA Guides® to the Evaluation of Permanent Impairment, Sixth Edition, 2024 and a 2023 edition contributor.
A past president of the International Academy of Independent Medical Evaluators (IAIME), Dr. Gelinas is an IAIME Fellow and faculty member. He is actively involved in teaching the Sixth Edition of the AMA Guides. He holds the IAIME Certified MedicoLegal Evaluator (CMLE) designation and the AMA Guides Impairment Rating Certification for the Sixth Edition.
