John W. Burress, MD, MPH, FACOEM

Dr. Burress completed Family Medicine Residency and then Occupational and Environmental Medicine through the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Burress has maintained a clinical focus via community based clinics except for a 10 year stent at Boston Medical Center as Medical Director of Occupational Health. Since 2015, Dr. Burress has been Principal of OccMed Consulting & Injury Care, an innovative value proposition practice that seeks to address deficits in current MA WC System to improve outcomes/help optimize EMR (Experience Modifier Ratio) for client companies. In addition to direct clinical care, Dr. Burress provides disability management consultation for a number of government and non-government organizations in MA and NH. Dr. Burress is a Senior Aviation Medical Examiner and a HIMS AME. Dr. Burress serves as Medical Director for WC Insurance Company AIM Mutual Insurance. He is a past Chair of the Mass Medical Society Public Health Committee, a past Member of the Board of Directors for ACOEM (American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine), and currently serves as Co-Chair of the Massachusetts Dept of Industrial Accidents (DIA) Health Care Services Board Guideline Writing Committee, and as Chair of WFD Section ACOEM.
