Lt Col Matthew R. Compton, DO, MOH, DABFM, CAQSM, is a resident physician in occupational medicine at the Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health/University of Utah. He has served 16 years in the United States Air Force and is board-certified in family medicine with a certificate of added qualification in sports medicine. Additionally, he is certified through the ABIME as an independent medical examiner, the NRCME as a certified medical examiner, and the FAA as an aeromedical examiner. His professional interests include the treatment of occupational musculoskeletal (MSK) injuries, MSK diagnostic and procedural ultrasound, and aviation medicine. He loves most aspects of his job, but would rather be off, enjoying time with his wife and three children, trail running, skiing, playing tennis, flying his Piper Cub, or mountain biking.
