My name is Hsiao-Jou Yu, and I am a dedicated research assistant and data analyst at National Yang Ming Chiao
Tung University (NYCU) in Taiwan. I hold a bachelor’s degree in public health from Fu Jen Catholic University
and a master’s degree in health and welfare policy from NYCU, where my thesis focused on the medical
behavior of HIV patients under Taiwan’s early ART initiation policy. My primary research area is
pharmacoepidemiology, which involves analyzing healthcare data to understand medication use and its effects
on public health.
I currently work in Dr. Lan’s lab at NYCU, where I am committed to promoting the health and well-being of
Taiwanese firefighters. My role includes conducting on-site visits to fire departments across Taiwan, collecting
physiological data, and analyzing health trends to support these essential workers. This work reflects my strong
dedication to public health research and my passion for applying data-driven insights to improve occupational
health policies.
