411 - Leading the World into the Future Through OEM - a Panel Discussion with Your Corporate Medical Rock Stars

This panel discussion will seek to provide wisdom from seasoned corporate medical advisors and directors in managing employee population health and wellness on a national and global scale. The format will address a pre-selected question for each of the panelists with a live response and discussion of the key learning objectives and pearls of wisdom, followed by questions and answers from the audience. This will be an interactive session with audience participation as a major focus.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the role and value of a corporate medical strategy and learn how to sell what we have to offer to the C-suite of executives and their Board of Directors. Gain proficiency in discussing an OEM strategy as a tangible cost saver as opposed to a traditional business cost center.
  • Discuss how the delivery of corporate occupational and environmental medical direction marries with the strategy for employee primary and tertiary care; review models in which corporations have built a culture of health via on-site and near-site family health centers focused on chronic disease management as well as health and wellness promotion.
  • Discuss the roadblocks to achieving corporate medical objectives in national and multinational corporations; learn the types of leaders to whom corporate medical directors traditionally report (EHS, HR, Risk/Legal) and gain an understanding of the nuances of these reporting structures. Learn how to ultimately advocate for a Medical Department reporting directly to the office of the CEO.
