202 - Strategies to Connect with IIS to Assess and Recommend Vaccine

ACOEM is in the fourth year of its cooperative agreement with CMSS Specialty Societies Advancing Adult Immunization (SSAAI) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). The College has partnered with health systems across the United States to incorporate CDC's Standards for Adult Immunization Practice (SAIP) into occupational health settings to increase adult immunizations through education, dissemination, and quality improvement initiatives. This session will highlight strategies implemented in their organizations respectively, including workflow improvements, education, building trust with patients, and connection to Immunization Information systems (IIS), to help increase vaccinations. The presenters will provide insights on challenges encountered and steps taken to implement a unidirectional feed to the state IIS from the electronic health record (EHR).
