208 - UN Health Intelligence- the Second Decade of Global Collaboration in OEM

UN Health Intelligence (UN HI) is a working group of UN Medical Directors for gathering, analyzing, and implementing data on the UN workforce's health, safety, and well-being. Since 2013, UNHI has been administering UN-Wide Health Surveys to assess staff's health risks and conditions to prioritize areas for improvement in OEM programs, resources, and services. Holistic and comprehensive Surveys are administered annually from the common platform in four languages. So far over 30 UN agencies conducted the Survey, collecting more than 87,000 responses and over 60 million data points. Participating agencies met at the Summit in Washington DC, to benchmark their results and plan for global OEM action in the next decade. The main tasks will include validation of the Survey tool to include elements of psychosocial risk assessment; implementation of Artificial Intelligence in data gathering, analysis, and visualization; and definition of indicators for ongoing monitoring and evaluation of UN OEM strategies' impact. The main Surveys' findings and action plans for future collaboration in the UN workforce's health management will be discussed in the conference.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply holistic approach in data gathering and analytics- identify measurable health and safety indicators for monitoring and evaluation- recognize the value of networking, knowledge sharing, and collaborative decision/consensus making among OEM professionals- recognize the importance of proper data management.
  • Appraise modifiable health risks and conditions in remote and dispersed workforce-score health risks and assess health risk profiles of work population-customize appropriate survey tools while keeping a core set of questions for benchmarking- consider the potential of AI in data gathering and analysis.
  • Implement basic data privacy and IT security principles in gathering sensitive health information-develop strong communication strategies to increase response rates and reduce survey fatigue-establish a coordinated implementation of survey results by engaging ALL internal stakeholders, including senior management.
