210 - Advances in VA Services to Veterans with Military Environmental Exposures: A Redesigned Registry, a New National Hub, and Ongoing Surveillance of Special Cohorts

This one-hour session will review three exciting advances in VA services to Veterans with military environmental exposures. The first is the complete transformation of the Airborne Hazards and Open Burn Pit Registry (AHOBPR) from an opt-in to an opt-out process, an innovation that expands the registry from half a million to over 4.5 million Veterans. The second is the national launch of the Veterans Exposure Team – Health Outcomes Military Exposures (VET-HOME) program, which is the first VA program ever to offer clinical services on a national scale. The third is the successful completion of five-year follow-up evaluations for Veterans enrolled in the Joint Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs (DoD/VA) Chemical Warfare Agent (CWA) program. All three advances reflect VA’s ongoing commitment to Veterans with military environmental exposures.
